Hercules Trophy UAE is delighted to reveal the venue of the first Hercules Trophy in the Middle East: “The Sevens” in Dubai.
The Sevens is located on the outskirts of Dubai and is quickly becoming the new home of rugby in the Middle East. The venue features a permanent grandstand with 5,000 seats while temporary stands are erected around this permanent structure for each year’s tournament, so increasing the capacity to 50,000.
The Sevens was chosen as the most appropriate location to host The Hercules Trophy on 10th Feburary 2011, because of its outstanding facilities and the possibility to support the growing number of Trophies in the future.
Hospitality areas, broadcast and medical facilities and changing rooms also feature in the design as well as a 30-metre wide rugby promenade, featuring cafes and food outlets. The Sevens is about more than just rugby, as a venue also caters for other popular sports played in the region, including cricket, football, basketball and netball.
